Throughout the summer we run 45-minute trips over the aqueduct five times daily. Views are stunning as you travel serenely over Thomas Telford's famous aqueduct.
We take you on a trip from our own wharf outside our cafe over the impressive aqueduct and back. At almost 127 feet above the River Dee the view is exhilarating as the scenery floats by at walking pace.
Eirlys is the boat for public trips and for groups of 21 to 48 passengers. Dogs are allowed on board. Trips run from our base at Trevor to Froncysyllte.
We occasionally use Tommy for public trips when Eirlys is fully booked. Tommy's capacity is 20 passengers. Dogs are not allowed on Tommy.
The 45-minute trips include two crossings of the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct. Trips run daily from March to October at 11am, 12noon, 1pm, 2pm and 3pm. Visitors planning ahead will find it advantageous to ring beforehand in case of last-minute changes. The calendat below will not be a reliable guide on the day as we cannot keep it updated with counter sales.
We have tea, coffee and a bar on board, and there is a commentary about canal history and canalside features as we travel.
